Ingredients for success and Social Media Impact
Professional Experiences, Passions and Interests
Ingredients for success are: professional experiences, passions and interests. Social media is playing an important role today. Germany Kent once rightly remarks that “if you are on social media, and you are not learning, not laughing, not being inspired or not networking, then you are using it wrong”.
I am fully aware that social media sites play an indispensable part in our lives. And I can take advantage of them, particularly LinkedIn, to my benefits.
Social Media impact
More and more employers are taking applicants’ LinkedIn profile into consideration when making recruitment decisions. I know it is time I managed my LinkedIn page more effectively. Keeping my profile updated and maintaining an active presence on LinkedIn is important. It helps creating a positive professional first impression to potential employers if and when we are on the look-out for new opportunities. It not only shows that I take my current and previous work experiences seriously but can also enable me to share my career highlights as well as achievements with others.
As long as we have the passion
I recently had a tremendous opportunity to learn useful tips from Enrico Piacentini* during one of his webinars. I am grateful to Enrico for his advice on the use of LinkedIn as a platform to better communicate and share with others not only my professional experiences and achievements but also my interests and passions.
We can do anything as long as we have the passion. However if we manage to do something with others who are equally if not more passionate about the same subject matter, the chances of us succeeding at the task will multiply. In this respect, I am thankful to Enrico Piacentini. He shared practical steps on how I can engage meaningfully with others on LinkedIn so that we can turn our passion into something of use to not only ourselves but also others.
