My Visit to Convivio and Caffè Caritàzza
If you’ve ever dreamt of experiencing the enchanting world of Italian arts, culture, and heritage without leaving the heart of San Diego, look no further than Convivio. This vibrant community hub provides a diverse range of programming that showcases the very essence of Italy’s rich cultural tapestry. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Tom Cesarini, the Founder of Convivio and Italian Honorary Consul in San Diego, as well as his collaborator, Anna Tokie, at the delightful Caffè Caritàzza.
A Warm Welcome

Tom and Anna’s enthusiasm for Italian culture was palpable, and their hospitality was second to none. It’s evident that they are not merely curators of this cultural treasure trove but passionate ambassadors of Italian heritage.
Cappuccino and Cookies with a Side of Italian Charm
My journey started at Caffè Caritàzza, a community-centric coffee bar that is truly one-of-a-kind in Little Italy. Tom and Anna treated me to a cup of cappuccino that was nothing short of perfection. As if that wasn’t enough, they also offered some delectable Italian cookies that melted in my mouth, leaving me craving for more. It was a delightful combination of flavors that set the tone for the rest of my visit.
